QUICK UPDATE FROM CHL CONFERENCE

By Killer Bee Hockey | June 13, 2008

Here’s a quick update from the CHL Summer Conference in Phoenix…

-Rio acquired the rights to veteran goalie Mike Minard from the Rapid City Rush in exchange for future considerations. Minard has AHL experience with Hamilton, Manitoba and St. John’s. He played for New Mexico last season and was 15-12-4.

-The league is expected to announce that the Texas Brahmas will join RGV, Laredo and Corpus Christi in the Southeast Division.

-The league is also expected to announce new, stricter, officiating standards that will place a crackdown on all types of interference. The idea is to open the speed of the game up.

-The CHL schedule should be released in mid-July.
