BEES SIGN BANGA AS PLAYER/ASSISTANT

Banga appeared in all 64 games for the Killer Bees last season and led the team in scoring with 61 points (23-38-61). He led the team in assists and finished second in goals, while his 18 power play points were second on the team. He also finished tied for first on the team with three shorthanded goals.
“Travis approached us right away and expressed interest in coming back,” explained Killer Bees Head Coach Paul Fixter. “He enjoyed playing here last year despite the tough season. As for the player/assistant role, it’s something he wanted to take on. He’s energetic about it and has the connections to help us recruit. We’re fortunate to have him back.”
Banga’s rights were acquired in May, 2007, from the then Memphis Riverkings in exchange for forward Matt Reynolds.
A native of
Banga will enter his fifth pro season with better than a point-per-game average. In 230 pro games, Banga has collected 251 points (107-144-251). He has also shown a feisty edge, adding 323 penalty minutes to his career totals.
