GAME NOTES, FEB 29
By admin | February 29, 2008
Game notes for this weekend.
- Hopefully the team can play the same type of game they played in Odessa. Lots of heart, passion and effort. I, like you and the coaching staff, wonder why that only seems to show up once every 10 games or so.
- Bees Owner/President Troy Nelson was quoted in the paper as saying Coach Paul Fixter is his guy. Good to see Fix getting a public vote of confidence from the Boss.
- Whether or not some of the current players like the coach is irrelevant. There are always a few players on every team who don’t like the coach. So what? The players don’t run the ship.
- As Troy said in the article, some guys decided to play elsewhere at the last minute. Why? Elgin Reid probably decided he’d get more scouts watching him playing his overage junior year in the OHL. Matt Medley wanted to go back to school while playing in the LNAH. David Masse had a family issue and wanted to play closer to home. As for some of the other D-men from last year? I’m not sure there were plans to bring many of them back.

WHY? is the million dollar question. As far as not liking the coach being irrelevant, your right. I had manny coaches and I never liked any of them, but I respected them enough to play my ass off to prove to them that I could do it and to get them off my back.
Why what? I believe I answered the why part. If not be more specific and I’ll respond to the best of my knowledge. I’d say you played for some pretty good coaches then since they inspired you enough to play your ass off. But I’ll bet you had some babies on your team who folded up shop every time the coach yelled at them.
