NO MORE ICE BATS?
By admin | February 22, 2008
- Just want to clear something up here friends. I don’t call people out or “make examples of” people. If I see something in a comment that i think is off base, I say so. This is a blog and the goal is interaction. Like they say in show biz, “give the nice people what they want.” And what you want, according to my research last summer, is the “inside scoop.” Some will say, “you get paid by the team.” Yup. But most people will tell you I shoot pretty straight. I’ve also approved 99% of the comments you’ve written, deleting only the most off-base, nut job type remarks. My point in writing this is that the opinion I write with is based on knowledge. But sure enough it is still an opinion.
- I talked to Randy Sanders, the owner of the Austin Ice Bats prior to Thursday’s game. If you missed it, you can listen here (fast forward to about 50 minutes). I may also run it again during the 1st intermission of Friday’s game. The long and short of it is that yes, the Dallas Stars are moving their AHL affiliate to Cedar Park. He supports the Stars but also thinks if the Ice Bats can remain in the Austin area, they’ll be successful. One possible move is heading back to the old Travis County Expo Center if they can do some upgrades. Call me a skeptic, although I wish him and the Bats the best.
