GAME NOTES, FEB 29

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Game notes for this weekend.

Hopefully the team can play the same type of game they played in Odessa. Lots of heart, passion and effort. I, like you and the coaching staff, wonder why that only seems to show up once every 10 games or so.
Bees Owner/President Troy Nelson was quoted in the paper as saying […]

MINOR OBSERVATIONS, FEB. 24

Monday, February 25th, 2008

There really hasn’t been a dull day in Bee Nation lately. I’m going to paraphrase some of the questions I’ve gotten lately so as not to ruffle anyone’s feathers…
IT’S ABOUT TIME THE COACH HAD SOMETHING POSITIVE TO SAY IN THE PAPER ABOUT HIS TEAM. WHERE’S THAT BEEN ALL YEAR? COACHING BY FEAR IS NO WAY […]

NO MORE ICE BATS?

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

Just want to clear something up here friends. I don’t call people out or “make examples of” people. If I see something in a comment that i think is off base, I say so. This is a blog and the goal is interaction. Like they say in show biz, “give the nice people what […]

GAME NOTES, FEB. 21

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

Here’s this weekend’s game notes.
I know some of you bring headsets to the games to listen to the radio feed in the arena. I want some feedback. How is it working out?
How is the customer service at the arena? How is the customer service from the team’s front office? Let me know your thoughts.
Same thing […]

FINALLY, SOME LIFE

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Looks the like the large wooden spoon has the soup bubbling a bit over at www.killerbeefans.com.
Everyone has their opinions about what’s wrong, whose fault it is, etc. I’d like to point to my response to yamaha1’s recent blog post as a decent indicator of what the “problem” is.
Discuss away.

GAME NOTES, FEB 16

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Good news everyone! The Bees finally won a game!
Here’s tonight’s game notes along with my patented, copyrighted, trademarked, formatted Pointstreak text stats.

What a weird night around the league Friday. Odessa gets throttled, Wichita beats Colorado and Tulsa beats up on the RiverKings. Top that off with a Rio road win and you’d think there was […]

THE COACH IS AN IDIOT

Friday, February 15th, 2008

Doc Rivers’ (Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic) amazing turnaround from idiot to genius is chronicled in this recent story from the Orlando Sentinel. Tell me if you think any of it applies here.

MINOR OBSERVATIONS, FEB. 15

Friday, February 15th, 2008

The team had a lot of fun bowling with the fan club the other night. If you missed out, well, you missed out. A good time was had by all. KVEO News (NBC 23) was there and posted the report on their website. Some guy at the end of the video even rolled a strike […]

GAME NOTES, FEB. 15

Friday, February 15th, 2008

What better way to spend the morning than sitting in the ice cold “press box” at Chap Ice in Austin? So begins the eight-game pre-playoff playoffs between the Bees and the Ice Bats. Can the Bees magically snap out of their funk? Can they at least play spoilers to Austin’s playoff bid?Can they run the […]

20 GAMES LEFT, PLAYOFF BOUND?

Monday, February 11th, 2008

The first 44 games this season have had many of us shaking our heads. Of course, David Masse’s departure hasn’t helped things. There were also two other players, D-men I might add, that at the last second decided they liked their other options better than the CHL.
The Bees have tried everything this season; the coaching […]

SOLUTIONS, AND THIS WEEKEND’S GAME NOTES

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

I’ve gotten a few emails, phone calls, etc. regarding Saturday’s incident.
Despite the actions of one presumably intoxicated cementhead, Killer Bees hockey is a fun, affordable, safe, family entertainment option. We, and the Dodge Arena, will not tolerate that type of behavior.

We are working to identify the one fan who was responsible. That said, SOMEONE […]

A COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

By now most of you have heard about Coach Fixter’s wife being assaulted at the last game. My understanding of it is that some knucklehead verbally attacked her and as she was trying to walk away, he put his hands up to stop her, causing her to fall. Whatever the case, surveillance video is being […]
