BEES ANNOUNCE SECOND TIP A BEE NIGHT

By admin | January 31, 2008

Hidalgo, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League today announced details for the second Tip A Bee Night at Outback Steakhouse in McAllen on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2008. The event will run from 4-10 p.m. Reservations are currently being accepted and are encouraged.

Killer Bees players will act as wait staff for the evening and will donate all their tips to Rio Grande Habitat for Humanity. There will also be items raffled off during the event.

Habitat for Humanity is a local charity providing affordable housing for families who would not otherwise qualify for home ownership. Habitat has built affordable homes in partnership with families who do not qualify for conventional market mortgages. Supported by private donations, volunteer labor, “sweat equity” of homeowners, and government funding, homes are sold to low-income families at no profit, with zero interest mortgages.

The first Tip a Bee Night in November helped raise over $4000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The goal for the upcoming event is $7000.

What: Tip a Bee Night to support RGV Habitat for Humanity

When: Feb. 19, 4-10 p.m.

Where: Outback Steakhouse, 1109 Hwy 83 E, McAllen

Reservations: 956-618-0577
