GAME NOTES, JAN. 18
By admin | January 18, 2008
Here’s this weekend’s game notes, including the full stat pack.
A few folks over on the Bees message board had some questions that I’d like to get into more at some point, but here’s a few quick replies.
- I’ve said it a million times; an affiliation at this level needs to be a perfect fit. It can help you to an extent and can do a ton of damage to a winning season if you lose key guys to call ups. All you have to do is look around the corner at the NBA D League’s RGV Vipers. The organization is interested in affiliating if it’s the right fit.
- The trip to Colorado was nice. Rocky Mountain put on a good show and the All Star Game was fun. Of course, it was a typical ASG with no hitting and barely any D. But it was entertaining. I talked to Tracy Egeland for a bit and he’s doing well.
- I’m not as shocked at some of the moves that have been made as some of you appear to be. I’ll miss Ladislav Kouba. He’s a good kid. But to be honest, he seemed to lack “fire” on the ice. Jeff Van Nynatten is a good goalie who I think will benefit from a change in scenery. There’s a lot of “new blood” here in the lineup and it’ll be interesting to see what the results are.
