BRAHMAS DOUBLE UP BEES

By admin | January 18, 2008

North Richland Hills, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees scored twice on the power play but still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Texas Brahmas Friday night at the NYTEX Sports Centre.

The Bees had a pair of two-man advantages in the second period but couldn’t capitalize. Texas took that momentum and ultimately Anders Strome connected for his 16th goal at the 16:16 mark of the second.

Mark Carragher bagged his first pro goal 7:33 into the third for the Brahmas, but Rob Voltera responded at 8:03 to make it a 2-1 game. Grant Jacobson regained the two-goal lead for the Brahmas at 13:15, but again Voltera answered with a power play goal to bring Rio within one at 15:48.

The Brahmas ended Rio’s comeback hopes with an empty-netter by Tyler Skworchinski at 19:07.

Dave Lemanowicz took the loss despite a 43-save performance. Brett Jaeger earned his second win with Texas by making 23 stops.

The Bees (9-20-6) travel to Amarillo on Saturday to face the Gorillas. Broadcast time on KURV 710 Talk Radio is 6:45 p.m.

Just amazing!!!…Shots continue becuz the d, or d in line up and or system sucks..Just amazing!!! PP ok but the guys who scored on PP were -3 or worse…Coaching seems to be a bitter pill..when is this going to become a winning combination, because the lines for the last 20 games have been the same (95% the same at least), and with 98% losing record……hello coach, check back when you won some games back in October/November!!!!!!Playing plugs with plugs doesn’t work. And most of allllllllll the defense SSSSUUUUUCCCKKSSSS!!!!! Obviously sitting MacNeil didn’t make a difference…..hint hint Eason, Van Hoof……eeeehhggaaaaaahhhhhdddd

A plus tonight was not playing Slushh,,,…on d…

Com mon …..get some balance and sit the duds….vet or not!!!!! This is getting to be beyond believable!!!! If the team is buying change the system to the talent……jmho

It really is sad for our goalies. They are bombarded all night long because of our weak defense. Something needs to be done to bring about some quality defensive play.

    GO BEES!

Sitting Dan McNeil and Jason Slusher out proves my point that Vanhoof is not playing to best of his ability. He was hired for defense and he is not doing his job. Anybody who thinks they can do a better job coaching step to the plate or shut up. Its easy to armchair coach. I can tell you that Coach Fixter is just as frustrated as is a lot of the players and the season ticket holders. I don’t like it when they lose
night after night but, that is the name of the game. All it takes is one bad apple to spoil the whole barrel. I would love to win game after game and come home with the presidents cup at the end of the season.

    GO BEES GO!!!!

Arm chairing is, your right, easy, but holy man why hasn’t the defense been taught gap control. If they know how to do that there wouldn’t be that many shots. The opponent wouldn’t be able to enter the zone so easily. Already the game tonight, 30 shots in the first period. That is a total embarrassment. Just watch the amount of space of defense gives the on coming puck handler. Its ridiculous.
