Hidalgo, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League today announced that Travis Banga has been selected as a reserve for the Southern Conference and will represent the club at the 2008 CHL All Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado, on Jan. 16.
The High River, Alberta, native is currently tied for the team scoring lead with 25 points (9-16-25).
The Southern Conference starters were announced on Thursday and today the rest of the squad was unveiled as determined by Arizona’s Marco Pietroniro, the South’s head coach, and the CHL’s hockey operations department.
This will be the second CHL All Star appearance for the 5-foot-10, 180-pound forward, who makes his off season home in Concord, NH. Last season, he was chosen to play in 2007 CHL All Star Game as a replacement for injured teammate Jason Tessier and had an assist in the game.

Congratulations to Rich also. I just heard on Channel 5 that he will be one of 4 broadcasters to call the game. A well deserved honor for the voice of the Bees.
