ARIZONA RUMBLINGS
By admin | December 19, 2007
Well, it’s been an interesting few days here in Arizona. Since Corpus Christi is in town for a game tonight, ice time has been all over the place. 10 a.m. Monday, noon yesterday, 8 a.m. today. The team’s been working hard and the practices have been intense. As for last Saturday’s game, it happens. Best thing to do is bury it and that’s what they’re doing.
I saw Red Light’s post on the message board. I don’t post something (I have been responding to reader posts) for three days and all of a sudden the blog is a joke? Of course the team is working hard trying right the ship. What did you think they were doing? Lounging around in the hot tub? But thanks for the constructive criticism, Red Light.
To be totally honest, there hasn’t been a ton to report except what I wrote above. Hard work, preparation, and more hard work. I don’t publicly discuss injuries until I’m told by the coaches that it’s OK to do so. But since Troy beat me to the punch, I’ll confirm what he wrote in his post; McNeill and Edinger should be good to go for this weekend’s games.
Here’s an early look at this week’s game notes. Some of this will obviously change pending the outcome of tonight’s and tomorrow’s games.
Minor Observations
- The Bucks get their tires pumped some more. Can you imagine the Laredo Morning times actually not writing a puff piece? I can already hear the response…Kid: Mama, some mean person said that coach Rosco didn’t really invent hockey. They’re lying right? Coach Rosco really did invent the game, didn’t he? Didn’t he? Mama: Of course Benny, Coach Rosco did invent hockey! Just ask Bobcat. (disclaimer: I worked with Terry for a year and consider him a friend and a tremendous coach. The above comments are made, mostly, in jest).
- Scroll down a bit and here’s some info about the CHL moving into a new city.
- Unless things fall apart in Laredo, it looks like the Ruskowski-Egeland rematch will be a reality at this year’s all star game in Broomfield.
- Some other interesting tidbits on the CHL website, such as Youngstown’s Andy Franck maybe a sniff in the NHL thanks to Boston’s goalie troubles. They did go out and get Alex Auld, but they’re still shaky in net. Franck, meanwhile, has been superb with Providence (7-1-0, 2.70), which also has the best record in the AHL.
- Bossier wins it’s ninth-straight at home. Nice turnaround from a brutal start.
