About Me

Rich Bocchini is the Broadcaster and Media Relations Director for the Killer Bees. Now in his third season with the team, he'll try to keep you up to date with an inside look at the team from a PR standpoint without getting himself in hot water with the coaching staff.

GAME NOTES, DEC. 14

By admin | December 14, 2007

Here’s this weekend’s game notes.

It’s awfully chilly here in Amarillo. Makes for a more Christmas-like feel, at least for those of us from cold weather parts. Maybe in time I can get used to wearing shorts on Christmas day. Word is we’ll be heading right into a storm on our overnight to New Mexico.

Minor Observations

  • Glens Falls, NY, is still angling to get an AHL team back. At least one Killer Bee would like to see that happen, not including me. I always enjoyed going there when the city was in the UHL. Plus as a kid I used to go to Lake George all the time.
  • Keith Aucoin is the AHL’s PlanetUSA All Star captain. Aucoin played briefly with his brother Phil in Memphis a few years ago.
  • Speaking of all stars, the CHL game is January 16 at Rocky Mountain. Coaches and trainers will be announced on Dec. 24. Right now it’s looking like we could have an Egeland vs. Ruskowski All Star duel. What would make it even more interesting is if Egeland has Cullaton on the bench with him and Ruskowski brings Bes.
  • Nice to see the start that Rocky Mountain is off to. Tracy’s an excellent coach and a great guy, so I’m happy he’s not enduring the same type of season he had last year. Hopefully the Bees see him and the Rage in the playoffs.

Tracy’s gone. let it go. remember what team you’re working with. I would have liked to see him have another year like last year, but you know he’s probably laughing right now.
    oh well. go bees!

David, Let what go? Thanks for reminding me who I work for.

After tonights humiliating COACHES loss its tough to let go, seeing how well Tracy is doing with his Rocky Mountain squad. And sure as sh$t he’s laughing big time.

Go bees Go….Paul, wake up and smell the coffee…you can’t send out the minus 3 for the night (2 short handed) line with less than a minute to go in a 3-2 hockey game….Loyalty towards your vets doesn’t work in professional hockey…Its suppose to be loyalty to the hard working player and from the player to the coach, not the coach to the player….Get a grip man. Start coaching to win……..
