BEES RAISE OVER $4K FOR MAKE-A-WISH

By admin | November 29, 2007

Hidalgo, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League, along with Outback Steakhouse in McAllen, helped raise over $4000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation at the first ever Tip-A-Bee Night on Wednesday, November 28.

Killer Bees players filled in as waiters and bartenders at the event, which ran from 6-10 p.m. All tips collected during that time were donated to the Rio Grande Valley Make-A-Wish Foundation. One generous attendee ordered a soda and left a $500 tip.

“Our first ever Tip-A-Bee Night was a huge success,” said Killer Bees Director of Public and Community Relations Jacquie Kurth. “The turnout was much larger than we had hoped for and everyone had a great time. The players enjoyed their new roles for the night and we raised a lot of money for Make-A-Wish.”
