BEES STAGE THIRD PERIOD COMEBACK, WIN 6-4

Corpus Christi, Texas — The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees came back from a 4-2 deficit in the third period to take a 6-4 victory over the Corpus Christi Rayz at American Bank Center Saturday night.
Adam Edinger scored the game-winner on the power play, while Dennis Maxwell and Rob Voltera each had four points. Goalie Jeff Van Nynatten made 36 saves in the win and is unbeaten in regulation (4-0-1) in his last five games.
The Rayz responded to take a 4-2 lead with goals by Kevin Watters and Brent Howarth, but the Bees punched back with tallies by Mark O’Leary and Dennis Maxwell. Howarth’s power play goal came at 7:02, while O’Leary responded 34 seconds later to make it a one-goal game. Maxwell scored the tying goal at 9:54, setting the stage for Edinger’s redirect at 17:36. Maxwell added an empty-netter at 19:21.
