North Richland Hills, Texas — Greg McConnell scored twice and Grant Jacobson had two assists as the Texas Brahmas defeated the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 3-2 Friday night at the Nytex Ice Centre.
Travis Banga scored for the Bees 1:50 into the second period after a scoreless first period, but Texas scored three unanswered goals to take the lead.
Rio’s Josh Bonar made it a one-goal game with 10:42 remaining in regulation. Brahmas goalie David Cacciola withstood three Bees power plays in the third period and made 28 saves in the win. Bees keeper David Lemanowicz turned aside 37 shots in his first appearance since Nov. 9.
The Bees travel to Corpus Christi on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. faceoff against the Rayz. Listen live on KURV 710 Talk Radio.
