A Warm, Fuzzy Feeling
By admin | November 16, 2007
Ah, the weather is changing, the leaves are turning colors and the holidays are upon us. By “weather is changing” I mean it’s gone from “unbearably $#*!%$! hot” to “anyone not from here thinks it hot, but everyone here has a coat on.” And of course, the leaves have turned, just not down here.
It’s getting to that time of year where, in warm weather climes, you can fianlly see thru the glass at your local rink (for you non-rink types, that means it cool enough so ther’s no humidity or fog on the glass). And it also means that the spirit of giving should be grabbing you around the throat, kind of like this (note: I’m not a Star Wars geek, I just thought this got the point across).
- Â If you’re coming to the games this weekend be sure to bring some canned goods or other non-perishables to donate to the RGV Food Bank. You could win a signed jersey, tickets and more; plus you’ll get a warm fuzzy feeling when you give. On Saturday night you can extend that warm fuzzy feeling with $1.50 beer and tickets for $12.55 (EVERY SEAT, except the NEWSCHANNEL 5 section). Just make sure someone else drives.
- For some reason The Monitor only sometimes puts Killer Bees stories online and makes them easily accessible from the “Killer Bees” link. Brian Sandalow usually puts the story links on his blog, but to the outside world, the story may as well not even exist. It’d be nice to see the coverage show up on oursportscentral, the online clearing house for minor league coverage.
- Speaking of The Monitor, I took part in this week’s video chat with the Sandman and got to lament the sorry state of my beloved Bruins. Actually they’re not doing half-bad this year, but like most New England sports fans, I’m waiting for the inevitable to happen; implosion and collapse.

Well said. I would be happy to read anything else you might contribute on this subject.
