BEES FALL 5-1 IN LAREDO

Laredo, Texas — Rane Carnegie netted the game-winner in the Laredo Bucks 5-1 victory over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees Thursday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
After a scoreless first period that saw both teams with nine shots on goal, Adam Rivet opened up the scoring 39 seconds into the second period. Rane Carnegie, who had a goal and an assist, knocked home the eventual game winner off a feed from Chris Korchinski at the 4:35 mark. Corey Courchene, who also had two points, scored with 12:38 left in the second. Just 12 seconds later Matt Summers lit the lamp off a pass from Courchene. Travis Banga picked up the lone Bees goal at 19:01 on the power play.
Brent MacSween scored the only goal of the third off helpers from Carnegie and Korchinski, at the 2:43 mark.
Jeff Van Nynatten picked up the loss, stopping 27 out of 32 shots faced, while Laredo goaltender Kevin Beech made 25 saves on 26 shots. Both teams went 1-for-7 on the power play.
Laredo improves to 7-0 this season while the Bees drop to 2-2-1. The teams meet again Saturday at Dodge Arena.
The Bees are back at home Friday, November 2, when they take on the Corpus Christi Rayz. Face-off is set for 7:35 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will receive hand clackers.
