McNeill To Be Placed on IR
By | October 23, 2007
Coach Fixter just informed me that defenseman Dan McNeill will be placed on the 30-day injured reserve, retroactive to last Saturday. The transaction may not actually go thru for anoother day or two. McNeill was either slashed or went hard into the boards Saturday and his arm was placed in a cast after the game. “That hurts us,” Fixter told me, and I couldn’t agree more. McNeill was outstanding during camp and was looked at as being a big component of the defense corps. What that means now is that the rest of the blueliners will have to be ready for some extended playing time this weekend. I wonder if we’ll see Dennis Maxwell slide back to the point? As far as bringing any else in, Fix told Clay Williams from KGBT 4, “You know me, I never stand still.” Seriously, as ECHL and AHL teams tweak their rosters, inevitably there’s always a few worthwhile avails, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
