Bees Fall 4-3 in Shoot Out

Corpus Christi, Texas — Geno Parrish scored in the final round of the shootout to lift the Corpus Christi Rayz past the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees 4-3 at the American Bank Center Saturday night. This game was only the second of 12 games the two teams will play this year.
Brent Howarth netted the first goal 11:08 in the first period. At 16:24 Justin Quenneville gave the Rayz the 2-0 lead. With only 36 seconds left in the first Bees Captain Rob Voltera cut the Rayz lead in half off a Travis Banga helper.
After a scoreless second period, Bees defenseman Mike Looby tied things up 5:42 into the third. At the 10:15 mark Joe Blaznek once again gave the Rayz the lead. With the extra attacker Dennis Maxwell was able to get the equalizer for the Bees with only 1:36 left in the game.
Rayz netminder Jason Tapp earned the win stopping 34 shots, not including three in the shootout.
The Killer Bees are back at the Dodge Arena Friday, October 26, to take on the Amarillo Gorillas. Face off is set for 7:35 p.m. The first 5,000 fans will receive magnet schedules.
