Grant BuckboroughGeneral Manager“Bucky" is in his fifth season as General Manager of the Killer Bees. A veteran of the CHL and a five-time nominee for the league's Ticket Director of the Year Award, Grant was honored by the CHL with the league’s Executive of the Year Award in 2007 and the Commitment Cup in 2008. The Commitment Cup was presented to Grant for his outstanding service and dedication to the Central Hockey League. Under his direction, the Bees have been one of the premier franchises in the Central Hockey League. On staff with the team since its inception, he assumed his current role in May, 2005. Since then, the team has averaged over 4800 fans per game, corporate sales figures have increased and the franchise is looked to by the league as a benchmark for other organizations in areas of marketing, promotion, ticket sales and communications. The Niagara Falls, Ontario, native and longtime Detroit Red Wings fan began his career as an account executive in Amarillo, working five seasons with the Rattlers/Gorillas. He also spent one season with the New Mexico Scorpions. Grant is responsible for the overall day-to-day operation of the team’s front office. He resides in McAllen with wife Cellina, daughter Brielle and son Brooks. |
